FAIRFIELD, OH (July 19, 2022)—It’s time to celebrate a decade of dreams at The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields with the return of a fan favorite!
The Nuxy Bash presented by Ameritas returns to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields on Saturday, July 30, at 7:00pm. This is the first Nuxy Bash to be held since the start of the global Coronavirus pandemic, and fans and supporters alike are looking forward to a special celebration. This year’s Nuxy Bash will be played on what would have been Joe Nuxhall’s 94th birthday.
“Each year, we look forward to the Nuxy Bash because of the opportunity it presents to us—an opportunity to say thanks to all those who have made this dream possible,” says Kim Nuxhall, President and Board Chairman of The Nuxhall Foundation. “We have so many people who have helped us make our first ten years so magical. We look forward to tipping our caps to Dad at this year’s event, and having some fun as we celebrate the achievements of our community.”
This year’s Nuxy Bash will feature the traditional celebrity softball game, combining celebrity friends of the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields on teams with players from the Great Miami Valley YMCA Youth League and the Therapeutic Recreation for the Disabled Adult League. Celebrities in this year’s event include: Local 12’s Sheila Gray, Bob Herzog, John Lomax, and Aleah Hordges, former Cincinnati Red Scott Williamson, 700 WLW’s Bill “Seg” Dennison, world-renowned illustrator CF Payne, reporter and author John Kiesewetter, director of the Reds Community Fund Charley Frank, and local commercial superstar Ed Hartman.
Rounding out the lineup for this year’s Nuxy Bash is Cincinnati Reds batboy and the 2022 recipient of the Joe Nuxhall Humanitarian Award, Teddy Kremer.
The evening will conclude with a spectacular nighttime display from the award-winning artists at Rozzi Fireworks. The fireworks display is set to take place at approximately 9:30pm.

Admission to the event is free, and no tickets are required. Concessions will be available for cash purchases, along with ice cream available from Special Neat Treats—an ice cream truck owned and operated by Joel Wegener and his children, Mary Kate and Josh, who have Down syndrome. The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Field’s new mascot, Joey the Can-Do Kangaroo, will also be in attendance, and copies of the Foundation’s new children’s book about Joey will be available for purchase. Free games and contests for children will be available at the beginning of the event.
The Nuxhall Foundation is the legacy foundation for former Major League Baseball pitcher and longtime Cincinnati Reds broadcaster, Joe Nuxhall. A central project of The Nuxhall Foundation is The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields—an entirely accessible baseball and recreational facility where every player with every challenge gets every chance to play.
