At the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields, we are committed to offering opportunities for special education classes to visit our facility where they can experience baseball, kickball, whiffle ball, and other recreational opportunities in a safe, accessible environment built just for them!

School Visit Information

Visiting The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields

The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields are totally accessible for students with special needs and mobility issues. We have modern restroom facilities and a family restroom for more privacy (with adult changing table included). Our rubberized baseball fields (2) are built to accomodate wheelchairs, walkers, and other assistive mobility devices. We also have recreational equipment (bats, softballs, tees, kickballs, and whiffle balls) for schools to use. There are two playgrounds, picnic tables, three sheltered areas for eating lunch, a basketball hoop, an accessible merry go round, and a wheelchair accessible glider.

The Skidmore Sales Mini-Golf Club

We have added an 18-hole mini golf course that is also accessible to individuals with special mobility requirements. During your school visit, the mini-golf course will be open for your students to play with supervision on the course limited to one adult per four students. JNMLF staff representatives will provide putters and golf balls for your students and teachers to use, along with scorecards if desired.

Follow this process to schedule your school visit:

  1. Request to schedule your date by emailing JNMLF Board Member Bonnie Nuxhall at bknuxie@fuse.net. Please request your visit at least one month in advance.

  2. Schedule your buses and transportation to the facility (we do not currently provide grant funding for transportation).

  3. Fill out the Facility Rental Agreement (ignore facility rental cost as all school visits are free), and provide proof of insurance from your district. These documents must be submitted before your scheduled visit. Proof of insurance is a copy of the declaration page that states General Liability Limitations. These forms can be submitted electronically via email to bknuxie@fuse.net or mailed to: The Nuxhall Foundation, PO Box 18146, Fairfield, OH 45018.

  4. Plan your activities for the day with your supervising staff and arrange for chaperones, buddies, and other volunteers (The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields will provide facility staff to ensure your visit goes smoothly).

  5. Come have fun with your students and make some wonderful memories!
