The Next Chapter

In 2022, we close the book on the first decade of unprecedented miracles at The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields...but it's only the first chapter that has been written. For the past ten years, we've marveled at the joy and exhilaration that our players experience each and every week. And as we watch their enthusiasm and love of the game, it's easy to be inspired. Inspired to dream. Inspired to ask the question:

How can we dream even bigger for our players?

The Hope Center

That's why our next dream is easily our biggest, most ambitious, and potentially most purposeful mission yet: to extend the miracles into a year-round, indoor facility on our campus called The Hope Center. Because hope knows no season at The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields, our special needs athletes will now experience a sense of belonging all year round while learning new sports, new skills, and new truths about how special they are to our world.

This 28,000 square foot indoor facility will give our players brand new recreational experiences in a variety of different sports, ultimately improving the physical and emotional health of all who call it home.

With your help, we can create the world's most comprehensive campus for athletes with special needs by creating a new center to be the gem(nasium) of our community.

You'll find more than hope in The Hope Center:

  • A fully-equipped basketball arena with spectator seating and dynamic video/technological capabilities for recreational and large-scale events to serve as the home of The Butler County Special Olympics.

  • A multipurpose fitness and recreational center including a wheelchair-accessible zipline, wheelchair trampoline, accessible rock-climbing wall, and other adaptable fitness equipment for special populations.

  • Fun recreational and community-building amenities including miniature bowling alleys.

  • The Butler County Special Abilities Hall of Fame, a one-of-a-kind display for special abilities athletes accompanied by annual induction ceremonies.

  • A fully-functional concession stand, providing work opportunities for individuals with special needs.

  • The Nuxhall Archives, home to the story and collectible artifacts of Joe Nuxhall’s life and career.

  • Permanent headquarters for The Nuxhall Foundation.

  • Desperately-needed restroom facilities for the currently-operating Skidmore Sales Mini-Golf Club and Butler County Special Olympics Bocce Ball Courts.

Heading for Hope

Heading for Hope Logo - Black Globe Low Res.png

Our multi-year Heading for Hope campaign will help us achieve hope beyond the fences of our current facility. Using a multiple on-ramps approach to encourage giving at every level, your contributions put us one step closer to bringing The Hope Center to life.

The Ole Lefthander knew the power of hope.

And he also knew that The Hope Center would eventually be built to serve the individuals and community that he loved. Joe had an enormous heart for children and adults with special needs, and giving them a permanent recreational home all their own within a few decades of Joe's passing expands the already great legacy of a great man.
