HOPE
[VIRTUAL TOUR]
Building Features
Imagine a building designed specifically for athletes with physical and developmental disabilities. That's powerful. And that's the power of The Hope Center—an inclusive destination that will create the world's most inclusive recreational campus for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
01
The Arena
New sports are on the horizon thanks to The Hope Center. Now, our athletes will have the opportunity to experience basketball, floor hockey, power soccer, martial arts, dance, group fitness, and more. With seating for hundreds, the arena will provide a permanent home-court advantage for The Butler County Special Olympics.
03
Community Room
Joe loved his community—so, it's only fitting that The Hope Center features a comfortable event space for wellness programming, character education seminars, and community events. This room will also house The Butler County Special Abilities Hall of Fame.
02
Multipurpose Room
Wheelchair ziplines. Interactive projection walls. Sensory equipment. Therapy suites. Device-friendly ballpits and trampolines. The Multipurpose room at The Hope Center will provide opportunities for play, recreation, and belonging that can only be experienced here.
04
The Nuxhall Archives
Joe Nuxhall's story as Major League Baseball's youngest player is incredible—and inspiring. It's a story told through one-of-a-kind artifacts. The Nuxhall Archives will provide a permanent home for Joe's story—a story that will show future generations that ordinary Joes can do extraordinary things.
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Dreams
The Hope Center
Inspired by our friend, the late Greg Meyer, the incredibly talented team at SHP put their gifts to work to create a one-of-a-kind, destination facility that serves the needs of individuals with disabilities. Their vision and heart to help us establish a year-round recreational facility shines through in every square inch of the design. Special thanks to Jeff Parker, SHP's Director of Visioning, for his exemplary leadership of this project.
