2026 Youth League Spring Season Registration Available

FAIRFIELD, OH (January 9, 2026)—A new year means our all-stars are already thinking about baseball season! Soon enough, it will be time to “play ball” once again at the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields.

Registration for the Great Miami Valley YMCA Youth League’s Spring 2026 season is now available. Registration is open until March 23, but will close early if capacity is reached. The season begins play on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

“We can’t wait to see our all-stars back on the rubber for a new season,” says Kim Nuxhall, president and board chairman of The Nuxhall Foundation. “We work hard all year long to give our all-stars an amazing venue to show off their skills, and our 14th season at the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields promises to be a special one.”

Athletes will kick off the season in style with Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields Opening Day Parade on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 10:00am. The parade begins at Sacred Heart Church in Fairfield and makes its way to the Nuxhall Miracle League Fields, where players will be introduced in an on-field ceremony. Former television meteorologist Larry Handley and his wife Debi Handley (owners of Little Brown Dog Productions) will be celebrated as this year’s grand marshals.

For the Great Miami Valley YMCA Youth League, regular season play begins the following Saturday with games scheduled to be played at 9:15am and 11am for seven consecutive weeks. Special events are currently being planned by The Nuxhall Foundation to add some extra magic to gamedays, including celebrity visits and other special giveaways.

Leagues at The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields are managed and operated by partner organizations and a committed group of volunteers. Since the opening of The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields in 2012, the Great Miami Valley YMCA and Therapeutic Recreation for the Disabled (TRD) have served as the providing partners for the youth and adult leagues respectively.

“Our partnership with the Great Miami Valley YMCA and TRD has allowed us to better serve more players of all abilities, and we are so grateful for their leadership,” says Nuxhall.

About The Nuxhall Foundation

The Nuxhall Foundation is the legacy foundation for former Major League Baseball pitcher and longtime Cincinnati Reds broadcaster, the late Joe Nuxhall. The Nuxhall Foundation carries forward three important legacy projects. A central project of The Nuxhall Foundation is The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields—an entirely accessible baseball and recreational facility where every player with every challenge gets every chance to play. Historically, nearly 300 athletes with physical and developmental disabilities aged 4 to 80 participate in programs at the Miracle League Fields. The Joe Nuxhall Memorial Scholarship (in conjunction with the Fairfield Community Foundation) provides more than $40,000 per year in scholarship money to student athletes at all 14 Butler County high schools. Very soon, the Joe Nuxhall Memorial Scholarship will cross the million-dollar mark in scholarship money awarded. The Joe Nuxhall Character Education Fund pitches good character to young leaders throughout Greater Cincinnati by delivering and supporting programs that stress the importance of integrity, humility, respect, and kindness. In 2024, The Nuxhall Foundation launched a $12 million capital campaign to construct The Hope Center, a year-round recreational facility for athletes with special needs that will help to create the world's most comprehensive athletic campus for individuals with disabilities.
