CINCINNATI, OH (July 13, 2025)—There's lots of laughter on this one, along with the story of an amazing journey. And you'll definitely want to tune in.
Nuxhall Foundation President and Board Chairman Kim Nuxhall recently appeared on an episode of What's The Point with legendary broadcaster Andy Furman on WDJO. Listen to the episode below.
"It's a story that's worthy of a movie," says Furman in the interview. "And maybe it will be some day."
In the interview, Nuxhall discusses growing up as the son of a Major League pitcher and broadcaster, and the origins of the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields. Furman walks Nuxhall through the incredible planning and hard work that went into bringing the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields to life.
"It's a story that's worthy of a movie," says Furman in the interview. "And maybe it will be some day."
Nuxhall also discusses his Dad's legacy of character in the interview. "If Dad would have been an obnoxious bully to people, nobody would have wanted anything to do with us," says Nuxhall. "But it's how he treated people when he was younger that helped us out. And it still is."
Nuxhall also discusses plans for the organization's next big dream to build The Hope Center, a 31,000 square foot indoor recreational facility just for athletes with special needs.
"We hope to build this to inspire people," says Nuxhall. "You don't have to have the last name of Nuxhall to make a difference in the community. It really comes from your heart."
What's The Point is an hour-long call-in show produced in conjunction with The Point/Arc. The Point/Arc is an advocacy group to assist families diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Nuxhall Foundation is the legacy foundation for former Major League Baseball pitcher and longtime Cincinnati Reds broadcaster, Joe Nuxhall.
