$100,000 Anonymous Gift Received for The Hope Center

FAIRFIELD, OH (December 11, 2023)—“Hopementum” is building at The Nuxhall Foundation and the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields, thanks to a gift from an anonymous donor of $100,000 to support construction of The Hope Center.

The Nuxhall Foundation announced receipt of the gift on social media, which will help to bring Joe Nuxhall’s dream building of an indoor recreational facility for special needs athletes to life.

”We’re still shaking our heads in amazement from yet another incredible act of kindness and giving, inching us closer to our next big dream to make a year-round impact on our all stars,” says Kim Nuxhall, volunteer President and Board Chairman of The Nuxhall Foundation. “Our athletes deserve the opportunity to play and grow year-round, and The Hope Center will give them a chance to play and learn in new ways.”

The Hope Center will be a 30,000 square foot indoor recreational facility that is inclusively designed to support athletes with special needs. The building will feature an arena that is home to the Butler County Special Olympics, an inclusive multipurpose room with adaptable fitness and recreational equipment, therapy suites, a community meeting room and educational classroom, and a permanent home for The Nuxhall Archives, where memorabilia from The Ole Lefthander’s career will be on display to tell his story.

The gift also helps move The Nuxhall Foundation closer to meeting the match on a half-million dollar matching grant given by Kim, Bonnie, and Phil Nuxhall in 2022 to support the project.

“We are now just $100,000 away from meeting the full $500,000 matching grant generously offered up by the Nuxhall family in honor of Joe and Donzetta,” says Tyler Bradshaw, Executive Director of The Nuxhall Foundation. “That’s a huge achievement that helps us get closer and closer to a groundbreaking.”
