FAIRFIELD, OH (January 25, 2024)—Dreary winter days have us dreaming for baseball. Fortunately, the Spring season is right around the corner for our youth league all-stars!
Registration for the Great Miami Valley YMCA Youth League’s Spring 2024 season is now available. Registration is open until March 18, but will close early if capacity is reached. The season begins play on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
“There are few things I enjoy more than the return of baseball,” says Kim Nuxhall, president and board chairman of The Nuxhall Foundation. “Our players and families pump joy into our world through their relentless optimism and courage, and we can’t wait to welcome them back and watch them round third and head for home at The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields.”
Athletes will kick off the season in style with Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields Opening Day Parade on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10:00am. The parade begins at Sacred Heart Church in Fairfield and makes its way to the Nuxhall Miracle League Fields, where players will be introduced in an on-field ceremony.
For the Great Miami Valley YMCA Youth League, regular season play begins the following Saturday with games scheduled to be played at 9:15am and 11am for seven consecutive weeks. Special events are currently being planned by The Nuxhall Foundation to bring even more energy and excitement to the season, including Star Wars Day on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
Leagues at The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields are managed and operated by partner organizations and a committed group of volunteers. Since the opening of The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields in 2012, the Great Miami Valley YMCA and Therapeutic Recreation for the Disabled (TRD) have served as the providing partners for the youth and adult leagues respectively.
To register a player for the Great Miami Valley YMCA Youth League, please visit www.nuxhallmiracleleague.org/registration. Prospective youth league players must register by March 18, 2024 for the upcoming season, but players are encouraged to register immediately in the event capacity is reached.
The Nuxhall Foundation is the legacy foundation for former Major League Baseball pitcher and longtime Cincinnati Reds broadcaster, Joe Nuxhall. A central project of The Nuxhall Foundation is The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields—an entirely accessible baseball and recreational facility where every player with every challenge gets every chance to play. More than 200 players between ages 4 to 80 participate in programs at the Miracle League Fields.
